The National football league begins it season starting tonight! To celebrate I want to talk about the big games to watch and why.
Patriots at Seahawks (Wed, Sept 9. 7:20 pm NBC)
The season begins with how last season ended, a rematch of the Super Bowl. Both teams ill begin this season looking to replicate the success of last year but the Seahawks want to end this year the same way they did last year and the Patriots want to go just one step further.
49ers at Rams (Thu, Sept 10. 7:30 pm Netflix)
The NFL’s first game down in Australia will take place between NFC West rivals who I think are also Super Bowl contenders. Unlike most Netflix games, hopefully this one puts on a show for once and we get a good one.
Bears at Panthers (Sun, Sept 13. 12 pm FOX)
The reigning NFC North and NFC South champions square off to start the year. Not only were both kinda surprises last year, but it is a matchup between two young QB’s in Caleb Williams vs Bryce Young. I think we got a sleeper for game of the week on our hands in Charlotte NC this weekend. I will say that.
Bills at Texans (Sun, Sept 13. 12 pm CBS)
Underrated matchup at Houston, Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills go south to play CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans to open the year. Two AFC Playoff contenders will open the year hoping for a big win.
Falcons at Steelers (Sun, Sept 13. 12 pm FOX)
Two teams in the most wide open divisions in football which are the NFC South and AFC North open in Pittsburgh. Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers begins the last season of his career while Michael Penix Jr. has the reins for the Falcons. Atlanta finished 3rd in a three-way tie last year for the NFC South championship at 8-9. While the Steelers last year won it on a do or die week 18 win over Baltimore. So in these two divisions, any week could decide the division.
Packers at Vikings (Sun, Sept 13. 3:25 pm CBS)
Maybe the game of the week, the two NFC North rivals hope to begin 2026 in a good way after having opposite ends to 2025. This is the third year since 2020 that the two opened their seasons up against each other since 2020. And the results of those two games set the trajectory of both seasons, so expect the winner of this game to go up and the loser to go down.
Broncos at Chiefs (Mon, Sept 14. 7:15 pm ESPN)
The Monday Night Football opener features a Broncos team that had a disappointing ending to what was such a promising season with the AFC Championship loss where QB Bo Nix was injured. It also features a Chiefs team for the first time in Patrick Mahomes career missed the playoffs. These are two teams that need a massive spark to begin the year.
